The serial number indicates production in 1889

This is a really nice untouched example straight out of the family home where it was displayed for almost 150 years

with wear and some small dents

This fine rifle is in . 38 40 caliber with a 24" round barrel and full length magazine tube. Features the classic front sight and "semi buckhorn" rear adjustable sight. The serial number is 72423 denoting the year of manufacture as 1881, so this is an early production gun. The engraving on the top of the barrel is clear, without just a bit of fading: WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CT. KING'S
